Rod Davies is one of
Australia's most versatile musicians.
As a singer, his wide range of skills, have been
on display to audiences of Australia's hit TV show Dancing with the Stars for eight seasons. His role on the show requires
Davies to adapt his voice to suit the myriad of genres he is asked to
perform each week.
"I have always enjoyed crossing over into many
different styles of music" Davies says. "I performed mainly rock in my
early cover band days before discovering funk and soul upon which I
immediately formed a band called Funk Fiction just to get to play those great tunes of the 70s.
I sang gospel in Adoration on the Gospel Train and then recorded two
acoustic singer/songwriter albums called Beautiful Scars and Turn the TV
On. Since Dancing with the Stars started up three years ago, I've tried
my hand at just about every other style you'd care to name."
Davies has also toured and recorded with some of
Australia’s best known artists, including Tina Arena, Olivia Newton-John and ex-Hunters &
Collectors front-man, Mark Seymour who describes Davies as:
"One of Melbourne's best kept secrets. His voice
is exquisite - you will be moved...."
As a songwriter, Rod Davies crosses over into many different worlds. He has written and produced music for pop, rock and R&B artists, musical theatre (Minefields and Miniskirts, Kissing Frogs) and commercials. He is extremely versatile with an innate gift for melody. And he's quick, very quick. His incredible energy and work ethic ensures that he is always in demand
